AI & the Amazon Landscape

What Are AI Skills?

What skills are, how Atomic One skills turn your AI tool into an Amazon operator, and how to use them in Claude, ChatGPT, and Codex.

What is a skill?

A skill is a reusable set of instructions that teaches an AI tool how to complete a specific task. You package the steps once instead of explaining the task in every chat. The AI tool follows the same method every time.

A skill can include instructions, examples, and scripts. Your AI tool uses a skill when your request calls for it.

  • Claude: skills are folders of instructions and resources that Claude loads when a task needs them. What are skills?
  • ChatGPT and Codex: skills are reusable, shareable workflows ChatGPT can apply on its own when helpful. Skills in ChatGPT

Skills and connectors work together. A connector, such as an MCP, gives your AI tool access to data. A skill tells your AI tool what to do with that data.

What are Atomic One skills?

Atomic One skills apply the same idea to Amazon. They are ready-made prompts and skill files that turn your AI tool into an Amazon operator. Each skill handles one job, such as finding products that lose money or flagging keywords that waste ad spend. Our team built them from the questions we run on live client stores every day.

Skills work in Claude, ChatGPT, and Codex. They require Atomic One MCP, which is free to connect. Connect Atomic One MCP

How do skills work?

Every skill in the Skills Library has three parts:

  • Job: the problem the skill solves, in plain language.
  • Result: a real answer from a live store, redacted where needed.
  • Prompt: the exact text you copy into your AI tool, or a skill file you can download.

You copy the content and paste it into your AI tool, or download the skill file and add it to your AI tool. Your AI tool pulls the data it needs through Atomic One MCP and returns the answer with your store’s real numbers. You never talk to the MCP directly.

Skills compared to other Atomic One features

Skills vs. your own questions

You can ask your AI tool anything about your store. Skills give you the questions that matter most, already written and tested.

Skills vs. Atomic One MCP

Atomic One MCP connects your store data to your AI tool. Skills tell your AI tool what to do with that data. You need both: the MCP supplies the numbers, and the skill supplies the method.

Skills vs. Atomic One agents

Skills answer a question when you run them. Atomic One agents, such as IRIS, PENNY, PETE, and ROSS, run store operations for you on an ongoing basis. The agents are a paid layer on top of the MCP.
